Part-time CNC Instructor


Technical Instructional Duties:

  • Set-up and operate multiple axis CNC mills and lathes.
  • Read engineering prints and interpret print requirements.
  • Choose the correct tooling, materials, feeds, and speeds.
  • Assemble tools and presets.
  • Be able to meet quality standards on project parts produced.
  • Perform adjustments and offsets as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot basic machine and machining problems.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing principles.
  • Contirbute to a clean and safe work environment.
  • Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide lab based instruction individually and as part of a faculty team.
  • Contribute to improving the effectiveness of instruction and curriculum.
  • Create a classroom/lab environment that is respectful of all.
  • Maintain accurate student records and reports.
  • Identify students needing assistance and refer students to Student Services. Collaborate with Student Services and the Learning Resources staff members to help students adjust to the learning environment.
  • Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in any field; OR AA/AS in any field .
  • If BA/BS then 2 years or 4,000 hours of machining field experience; OR if AA/AS then 6 years or 12,000 hours of machining field experience.

  • Don't Be Fooled

    The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
